From Google My Account Page, go to Sign-in & Security. At the bottom of this page make sure that “Allow less secure apps” is set to ON.
The other thing I had to change was in WLW itself. Along the way of trying to get things to work together I had set the proxy to manual, I needed to set it to automatic.
